Jo Ann Simon was born Jo Ann Haessig in Norwalk, Connecticut on November 2, 1946, about nine months after her father, Charles Haessig, returned from his Navy position in the Pacific Theater after the war was won over Japan.
She grew up in Norwalk, attending local schools and the local college, achieving honors grades, before marrying Kenneth Campbell, Sr., the father of her two children, Kimberly and Kenneth, Jr.
She began writing at nights, after working a full time corporate day job and putting her two young children to bed. She began writing her first book because she had always loved writing and reading, and she sought another avenue for her talents that she knew couldn't be found in the corporate world, where in the late 1970's and early 1980's the 'glass ceiling' still existed in most corporate workplaces.
Writing as both Jo Ann Simon and Joanna Campbell, her pseudonym for the Thoroughbred Series, Jo Ann has written over thirty books of her own and has had many other books published as the offshoot of her ideas for the Thoroughbred Series with her listed as the 'creator.'
A message directly from Jo Ann:
It's a great joy that ImaJinn Books is republishing my first books, which were more about time travel and people, rather than about horses, although both subjects are loved by me, and I will continue to write about both of them.
Any reader can contact me!
My very best wishes to all readers of any of my works,
Jo Ann
